All About Miss Roy!

Hello and welcome! My name is Megan Roy and this is my first year teaching at the Jackson School. I am very excited to begin this journey within such a supportive and collaborative community. I am looking forward to the opportunity of learning and growing with your children everyday. I graduated from Wheaton College in 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and with a minor in Education. Then in 2016, I graduated from Lesley University with a Masters in Special Education Moderate Disabilities PreK-8. I have spent the last four years working as Teaching Assistant and then as Classroom Teacher at The Wolf School in Rumford, RI. I enjoy teaching and helping children grow and explore so much that I have dedicated many of my summers working at a variety of local and international summer camps. I bring my summer camp energy, optimism, and creativity with me into the classroom each and every day, even on the coldest or rainiest days!

When I am not teaching, I can most likely be found somewhere in nature with my Black Lab sidekick, Murphy. I truly believe that nature has an incredible power to calm and allows people connect with the larger world around them. I love to incorporate nature into the classroom whenever possible. In my free time I also enjoy reading, gardening, cooking, hiking, spending time at the beach, and spending time relaxing with friends and family.
