Welcome back to a new school year!  For our new students, we look forward to meeting you and watching you grow.  To our returning students, we cannot wait to hear about your summer adventures!  The first day for all students is Monday, September 9th.  We will be reviewing preschool procedures, as well as getting to know each other at preschool orientation on Friday, September 6 at 9:30 AM.  Please join us for this important day.  If you are unable to attend, please send me an email, and I will inform you of what you need to know for the first day of school.

For those who are new to the program, let me introduce myself.  My name is Liz Foley, formerly Liz Barboza. I am still adjusting to my new name, so it is okay if you call me Ms. Barboza on occasion. I may respond faster to my old name!  Many of you also know my husband, the infamous Mr. Foley, first grade teacher at the Jackson School. We celebrated our beautiful wedding this summer on a sun-filled and HOT day!  I have two sons, William and Colin, and a cat named Jane.  William loves playing and watching sports and making music.  He even played his clarinet for me when I walked down the aisle at my wedding!  Colin loves dancing, trucks, and Elmo!  Jane loves laying in the sun on the window sill. Some of my favorite things include going to the beach, working in the garden, skiing, and pickle chips!!  My favorite color is yellow, and my favorite food is mango.

I have worked at the Jackson School for a little over 14 years, and I love this school.  A fun fact is that my Nana used to work at the Jackson School way back when. I used to visit her often when I was preschool-aged! I attended Northeastern University for my bachelors degree in speech-language pathology and audiology.  After working as a speech therapist in the preschool program for a few years, I decided that I would like to shift positions and become a preschool teacher.  I  attended Bridgewater State University and earned my masters degree in special education, and here I am doing what I love!

I look forward to a fun year of learning with your child. As always, if you ever have any questions or concerns, please email me at ebarboza@plainville.k12.ma.us
