Greetings! I am Jess Hoyle  and I am so excited to be teaching your children. I have been teaching in Plainville for eight years. Throughout the year I have worn many hats in many grades but I have been teaching 5th grade since 2015. This year is going to look a bit different, but  I couldn’t be more excited! I consider myself very lucky to be able to go to a job that I love every day!

In 2008, I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Lasell College. Shortly after graduating, I began teaching fourth grade in a greater Boston charter school and continued to teach there for three years. It was here that I truly developed my passion for teaching. In 2011, I earned my Master’s Degree in Urban Education from Simmons College. After earning my degree, I began teaching elementary Humanities at a charter school in Dorchester, MA.

Teaching your children is a privilege that I take very seriously. My mission is to provide a nurturing, safe, and constructive learning environment for each student in my class. When students enter the classroom, I want them to feel welcome, respected, appreciated, and secure.

I would like to instill a love of learning in all my students. I want them to become life-long learners who are respectful, responsible, and productive members of their school and community. Each day we will work cooperatively to accomplish given tasks, evaluate positive and negative responses, and work on better ways to solve problems.

Working together as a team, we can encourage, motivate, and enhance your child’s learning experience this year. As we continue through the year, I hope that this website will be a convenient and effective tool for you to gather important information about our classroom community and the learning that we do each day. Please feel free to contact me by email ( jhoyle@plainville.k12.ma.us)  at any time to discuss questions or concerns that you may have about our classroom or the events going on in it!
