    Welcome!

My name is Sam Murdoch and I am the sixth grade inclusion teacher here at the Wood School.

I started my teaching career in Plainville during the 2017-2018 school year. It is my belief that school should be a place where students improve their confidence, self-esteem, social skills and create fond memories that they will remember for years to come. My early years of teaching involved teaching as a substantially separate ELA and Social Studies teacher in North Attenborough for students in grades 6-8. This taught me how to work with students with challenging behaviors and complex learning profiles.

My goal for this page is to give families information on what we do in the classroom as well as resources for at home practice to reinforce skills.

Email works best for me! If you need any assistance or information on how to use the resources on my page, feel free to reach out.

Sixth grade is an exciting year of growth. I believe that students grow academically, socially and emotionally. I know this year can be stressful with middle school on the horizon. However, I am confident that the sixth grade team does everything they can to allow for a smooth transition to the years ahead.

I look forward to helping students grow each year in grade 6!
