    Unit 3 Fundations instruction focuses on digraphs. Digraphs are two consonants that create a unique sound in words (ex: /th/ in “math”, /sh/ in “shop”). Students will be completing activities centered on both phoneme segmentation and blending with these new sounds.

    The following are the trick words (sight words) that we will be learning about during Unit 3 of Fundations. Trick words are words that frequently occur in text and do not follow traditional spelling patterns. The Trick Words for Unit 3 are: to, a, was, is, he, for, as, his, has.
