Mrs. Griffin
Hi Jackson School Community. I began my journey as a school psychologist with you and have treasured every moment. I began in September 1998 back in the "old" Anna Ware Jackson School building. My role as a School Psycholgist inlcudes evaluations/testing for special education as well as other types of behavioral, social, emotional evaluations and supports. Beyond testing and evalutions, I do individual and small group counseling, consultations with administration, teachers, other community service providers and parents. I work collaboratively with the Student Support Specialist, Kristen Skeffington to support all things SEL (Social Emotional Learning). My role in the district also includes - TEAM chairperson. In this role I schedule and facilitate special education annual IEP meetings as well as all initial evaluation and three year re-evaluation meetings and all Early Intervention meetingsfrom intake/referral to determining eligiblity.
The heart of my work is with and for the students, building skills and relationships that foster growth in all domains social, emotional, behavioral, cogintive and academic.
Prior to my work in Plainville I worked in psychiatric hopsital units for children and adolescents as well as some time in residential treatments facilites for children and adolescents.
