• Math Preschool students have been busy exploring the world of math.  The following list of objectives gives a highlight of skills that are taught and explored through preschool.  Please keep in mind these objectives are not expected to be demonstrated independently and may require prompting and modeling.

    1.  Recognize and name numerals 1 - 10

    2.  Say the name of numbers in a meaningful context

    3.  Understand the relationship between numerals and quantities up to 10

    4.  Count concrete objects up to 10

    5.  Use comparative language such as more/less than, equal to, to compare a collection of objects

    6.  Use concrete objects to model addition and subtraction problems up through five

    7.  Recognize the attributes of length, area and weight of everyday objects using appropriate voabulary (long, short, tall, heavy)

    8.  Compare the attributes of length and weight of two objectis (longer/shorter/same length; heavier/lighter/same weight)

    9.  Sort, classify, categorize objects by more than one attribute

    10.  Identify relative positions of ojects in space (beside, next to, inside, above, below)

    10.  Create and represent two -dimensional shapes as well as three dimensional shapes
