    Jackson School Music 
     
     
    Music is a class that deals with musical concept development, music reading, listening, movement and performance skills.  These various skills are taught through many different musical approaches, such as singing, playing, dancing, listening, creating and performing.  Each grade level has its own personal challenges and expectations. 
     
     
     
     MUSIC OBJECTIVES AND GOALS
     
    *To build a solid foundation for a lifetime of musical appreciation, participation and the pure enjoyment of all types of music
     
     
    *To be able to create a sense of accomplishment and self confidence in a
    performance and/or classroom setting
     
    *To showcase the many talents of all Jackson School Students  
    to parents as well as the Plainville Community
      
    *To help develop coordination through musical movement activities
     
    *To apply the basic rudiments of music in playing and singing, such as rhythm, tempo,
    and melody
     
    *To experience multiculturalism through song, listening, playing, video and/or dance
     
    *To contribute to the intellectual and academic development of memorization, language skills, concentration and good listening skills
     
    *To contribute to the students' well-rounded education 
     
    *To encourage communication, individual expression and critical thinking, allowing children to experience music as a means of personal enrichment, a gateway for human expression as well as an intellectual discipline of understanding music through singing, moving, listening, playing instruments as well as performing for a live audience when possible.

    *To understand the importance of and being a respectful audience member for other's performances
