Hello, friends! Welcome to week 10 of our virtual learning!

This week, we are going to practice our sight words and read two new stories.

Do you remember that some of our stories have plays at the end the books? Teachers call this "Reader's Theater". Since we have had so much fun performing these plays in our groups, I have included one of those stories this week.  We will perform our play during our Zoom call on Wednesday. See you there!

Let's practice our sight words!

1) Click here for a list of all second grade sight words. Keep practing! Read them to your pets, your stuffed animals, your grandparents on Facetime, or anyone else who will listen! :)

Let's read two stories!

2) Click here for the login screen for our class. Then you can bookmark the page so you can easily get to the login screen each week.   

You may be brought to a page asking for my teacher login. If so, please enter kwright35nicholas.

Find your name and click on it. Enter your password. I have emailed your parents your password and it will be the same each week. You should now see your personal screen. I made this one for my daughter, Caroline.

Look carefully - how can you tell that it is her own screen? 

Now click on the purple planet called "Reading". 

You will see this screen 

Click on the little space ship called "My Assignments"

You will now see your reading page. The assigments I have given you are at the bottom of the page. 

You can see that Caroline has read Click, Cluck and Quack because the little book emoji is green and has a check next to it. The other books have black and white emojis. Caroline needs to read them! 

This week, please read The Lion and the Mouse and What Pet Should You Get?.  Don't forget to click on the ? icon and to take the quiz afterwards!

Here is the script for the play for The Lion and the Mouse. It might be easier if you can print it out before our Zoom call. If not, make sure you can see it online during our Zoom call so you can read your part! 

3rd Grade 

 Hello, friends! Can you believe this is week 10 of our remote learning? 

This week, we will be reading two stories from Learning A-Z. One story will be easier for you and will help you with fluency. It is called The Animal Bridge. The other story is called Art Around Us and will be more challenging, but I think you will find it interesting! Please don't forget to click on the ? icon at the end of the stories to take the quiz.

Find your name and click it. You will now see the screen for your password. (I have emailed your parents with your passwords, which will be the same each week.) 

You will be brought to your student home page. Scroll to the bottom and click the purple button at the bottom of the page which says Reading Assignments.

 You will now see your Reading assignment page:

Please answer the questions at the end of each book. You will get special points for reading and responding and I will be able to see your progress. Enjoy!
