Week of 6/1 - 6/5 - 1st Grade - Lesson 24
Oh know more sight words!!!!!! Here they are: (NEVER, ANOTHER, DAY, WORDS, LOOK, THROUGH). Practice, practice, practice studying them along with the other sight words.
We are going to read Chicken Little. Remember we read this book before. This is a reader's theater. Which is more like a play. Everyone can have a part in the story. We are going to do it on our next Zoom Meeting. Try to practice reading it. Maybe you could do the play with your family. Have fun.....
Lesson 25
We are going to go over R and L blends. (R blends like in the word grip and L blends like in the word slip). A blend is 2 or more consonants together that make their own sound. They are not like digraphs (sh, ch, wh, th, ck) which make only one sound. To mark up words with a blend we underline each letter separately since they have their own sound. example: g r i p and s l i p
Can you read the following words in the (R and L Blends) and mark them up? There may also be a couple of digraphs and bonus letters in some of the words. Mark them up also?
Read the shot passage Fred the Frog. Can you find any R blends? Mark them up.........
Lesson 26
Read the short passage A Barking Dog. Answer the questions and draw the pictures about our little friend Peanut the dog. I would love to see your work.
Please share.........

We are going to practice with the vowel team (oa,ow). It is the long vowel o sound. Practice reading the cards in the Feed Me OA OW card game. Maybe you could print out all the vowel team cards and play The Feed Me Game.
Read the short passage The Oak. Can you circle or write down all the words that contain the double vowel (oa, ow)?
