Lesson 21
Here are some more lst grade sight words. Remember you can make flash cards, use playdough to form the words, shaving cream, chalk or sky write. It is a great way to help you memorize and spell them correctly.
The following sight words are: ( see, work, between, both, under, being). Practice reading and writing the sight words What and Want. (I think they are the hardest lst grade sight words).
I will quiz you on Wednesday at our Zoom Meeting to see if you know them....... The following are some Nonsense Words. These are words that do not make any sense but they are a great way to practice the sounds of each letter. Read them slow at first. Every time you read the words you will read them faster and faster. Tapping the words out will help you read them correctly.
Continue to play the b and d game. It is a great game to help you know if the letter is a b or a d.
Lesson 22
Read the passage Chen's Trip to the Vet. Read it at least three times. Can you underline all the digraphs (sh, ch, th, wh, ck). Can you box in all the glued sounds (ang, ing, ong, ung, ank, ink, onk, unk)? Answer the questions to the story Chen's Trip to the Vet. Remember answer in a complete sentence. Using capitals, understanding, punctuation, and spacing. Please share with me. I would love to see the sentences.

Continue to practice your sight words. Read the passage Peanut Plays. Highlight the answers and draw the pictures. I love seeing your pictures!!!!!!

Lesson 21
Read the passage Memorial Day. You may have to read it two or three time. Use the appropriate color crayon to underline your answer. Can you find the evidence?
Lesson 22
Last week you practice reading the vowel teams, (ee, ea, ey). Words with these vowel teams make the long vowel e sound. Today we will practice the (ai, ay) the long vowel a sound. examples: bait and play. Can you read all the words in the card game Feed Me! If you want to make a card game - print the cards out, take turns reading the cards, if you get it right you keep, if not discard in the pile. If you get a Feed Me! card you give up all your cards in the discarded pile. Game is over when all cards are gone. Player with the most cards is the winner.....
Read the passage Play on the Train. Can you circle all the words that have the vowel teams (ai, ay)? Can you find more than 10?
Lesson 23
Read the fluency passage The Scared Bear. From whose point of view is this story told? How do you think the bear feels about the girl? Please answer in complete sentences.
